Today's QT

This is what the Lord says:
"Cursed is the one who trusts in man,
who depends on flesh for his strength
and whose heart turns away from the
Lord.

He will be like a bush in the wastelands;
he will not see prosperity when it comes.
He will dwell in the parched places of the desert,
in a salt land where no one lives.

But blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord,
whose confidence is in him.
He will be like a tree planted by the water
that sends out its roots by the stream.
It does not fear when heat comes;
its leaves are always green.
It has no worries in a year of drought
and never fails to bear fruit."

Music Box

Look what I found during lunch yesterday? Music Box by Mariah Carey! This album is lao gong's favourite and also mine. And I got it at less than $10 from NTUC Fairprice! Ok I'm breaking a grammatical rule here. You're not supposed to place conjuctions at the beginning of a sentence. So students don't learn this!

One of our fav songs in this album is Hero. May this song be an encouragement to anyone out there who's feeling down at the moment.

Do you know who's the Hero being described in this song? Take a look at the lyrics to find out.

There's a hero
If you look inside your heart
You don't have to be afraid
Of what you are
There's an answer
If you reach into your soul
And the sorrow that you know
Will melt away

[Chorus:]
And then a hero comes along
With the strength to carry on
And you cast your fears aside
And you know you can survive
So when you feel like hope is gone
Look inside you and be strong
And you'll finally see the truth
That a hero lies in you

It's a long road
When you face the world alone
No one reaches out a hand
For you to hold
You can find love
If you search within yourself
And the emptiness you felt
Will disappear

[Chorus]

Lord knows
Dreams are hard to follow
But don't let anyone
Tear them away
Just hold on
There will be tomorrow
And in time
You'll find the way

Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life." John 14:6a

Running causes Toothache?

Mei goes to the gym with us every wednesday now to train for her marathon. By the way we only gave her permission to train but we didn't give her permission to go for the 10km marathon. So skinny, later wind blow her backwards instead of forwards how?

"Ouch my teeth hurts."
This is what happened to her after running 2.4km on the treadmill last night.

Thanks to my wonderful Sony Ericsson auto focus 3.2 mega pixels camera phone, I managed to capture the following.

Mrs Jin Bo Lark happily training with her one slab of iron.
Mr Jin Wu Lark training very hard with his 20 slabs of iron. My hero....

Success

Possible benchmarks of Success

1) Career - Compared to your peers, are you on the higher rung of the corporate ladder?

7 October 2007

7 October is coming again!!! We are married for almost a year. Starting to prepare for this year's honeymoon so excited!!! We have a few options.

1) Cruise to Redang

2) Krabi

3) Bali
We want a place that doesn't have many things to do so that we can just romanticise each other, holding hands while walking along the beach and while snorkeling.

4) Taiwan (Never been there and very curious about the myriad of food, shopping and scenic places there. It would be fun exploring the country together.)

5) Hongkong

Then again, we have never been to 4) and 5) together. Our Chinese New Year vacation can't possibly be at these two places cos almost everywhere's gonna be closed for business. So should we still have a beach vacation since our last real vacation was at Bintan and our next vacation after honeymoon is gonna be most probably a beach vacation too???

Our Little Piece of "Maldives"

Our favourite Water Hobby
I still remember our very 1st snorkeling experience. It was during honeymoon at Phuket. We were so amazed by what we saw underwater that even when everyone was done with it and were exploring the little island the boatman stopped at, we were still sort of squatting and floating around the shores looking at the underwater world. When we finally stood up, we realised everyone was already on the speedboat waiting for us and we were the only ones still standing knee-deep in water and snorkeling!

Our 2nd experience was at Bintan. It wasn't as colourful and the variety of fishes underwater was much lesser but still it was a wonderful experience for me cos lao gong held my hand tightly throughout while we explored the waters together.

Sometimes at the end of a busy day, my favourite activity is to sit on the couch in lao gong's arms, listening to lhis heartbeat and seeing him smile at me. After reading the story on Sally's blog, I was reminded of how important these things are especially when we get too comfortable with each other and take each other for granted.

Lao gong cooked dinner for me and mei today and worked himself into a sweat again. So touched by his gesture. Thank you lao gong. Muacks!

Mr Big Foot and Miss Small Foot

Can you spot who's who?
Ah Boy's "Hairy Paw"
Eversince daddy trimmed the fur between my paws, my fur has been growing weirdly. =S

Sally's new nicknames for us.

Today I read Sally's blog and realised we the Engs have a set of new nicknames. Mr Jin Wu Lark and Mrs Jin Bo Lark. Haha how apt the title. Yesterday we went to the gym. I went to my favourite machine for toning flabby byebye arms and slotted the pin into "2". The lightest possible weight, ie 1 slab of iron.

Lao gong, who has stopped working out for almost 2 months got inspired by me and felt that since he was there and there was only one other person there, he decided to make use of the time to work out too. He went to the chest machine, took out the pin and slotted it right at the bottom. 20 whole pieces of solid iron. For a moment I was worried that his face will burst when I saw the amount of exertion on his face. Haha next time take photo for you all to see.

Eng Ah Ger

Hi my name is Ah Ger. I'm the pampered lady in the house. My brother ah boy has to do all kinds of funny things to make mum and dad give him titbits but i just have to appear beside him and look sweet to get whatever that he's been given. Though I know less tricks than him, don't you think I'm the more blessed one?

But mum says i frown too much. That's because I'm afraid of many things. Mum and Dad say maybe something happened to me when I was young but I can't really remember. All I know is that when I accidentally pee in the house, I don't get as much scolding as ah boy. I overheard them saying that I can't be scolded too much. I'm meant to be pampered and loved. Life's so good...

My favourite place is on mum's lap! I'm sp happy I can't keep my tongue in.

Actually i'm very mischievous too. See the white piece of cloth under my leg? It's actually the lining from dad's sports shorts. He seems to tear his clothes up all the time cos he forgets how big his muscles are and uses too much strength to wear his clothes. So his clothes tear quite easily. Mum gave it to us cos she knows we love anything with their smell and I won it from ah Boy.

See? I'm not that scardey cat. I love playing with ah boy and I don't mind him covering my whole face with his mouth.

This is dad squishing me when I was a puppy. Maybe that's why I can't seem to grow as big as my brother.

Hope you enjoyed reading my humble biography =)
